We are offering 3 price points so you may choose your payment option based on your circumstances, please read the options at the end of the event description
A weekend workshop by Aimee Aroha + Redlyn Parker
“There is no such thing as a neutral education”
The modern school system was designed as a tool of empire, a mechanism for colonising the mind. Many of us carry deep imprints from our time in classrooms, stories of conformity, disconnection, shame, and separation from our own ways of knowing and being.
In this workshop, we explore the ecology of school imprints: how schooling shaped our internal landscapes, the history of modern education as an integral arm of colonisation, and the impact of those patterns on who we are today.
Drawing from experience as a freeschooling mother on a life long journey of decolonisation and the wisdom of rebirthing breathwork, Aimee and Redlyn will explore school as an imprint—something that informs so many aspects of our lives from how we work, create and interact with the world.
You’ll be guided through conscious connected breathing practices to support you to make space for new possibilities of learning, relating and being.
This is an invitation to decolonise learning, and reclaim more autonomy as a learner, guide and ancestor for future generations. Whether you are on a deschooling journey yourself, unschooling with your children, or seeking deeper understanding of how colonisation shaped your learning and your life, this space is for you.
Together we will:
Trace the colonial history of modern schooling
Explore the ecology of school imprints and how they live in the body.
Learn breathing tools to support with the ongoing deschooling process
Explore learning as a natural, embodied and liberated process.
This is a weekend workshop from 10am - 12pmAEDT Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th March
We are offering 3 price points so you may choose your payment option based on your financial circumstances
